YU YUE
Photographer · Videographer · Director
Born in Nanjing, China, he spent his childhood and adolescence on the campus of a university in a remote area.
In elementary school, an art teacher discovered his aptitude for drawing, which led him to systematic art training. Over the years that followed, his interest in drawing only deepened, and he kept practicing. Regrettably, at the time of the college entrance examination, he did not choose the path to art school. Instead, he found himself in Shanghai, studying finance, and later pursuing further studies, earning a Master of Laws degree..
After starting work, he bought his first DSLR camera. From that moment, photography became the greatest passion of his life.
Though he came to it later in life, his work has received wide recognition. In 2013, he held his first photography exhibition at the YiFeng Galleria in Shanghai, which also drew coverage from television station.
While working in the legal profession for many years, photography remained a pursuit he never set aside. Through life's upheavals, hardships, and lostness, photography became his spiritual anchor—offering solace, joy , and fulfillment.
At the age of thirty-five, he left his job and devoted himself fully to visual creation and has gradually established long-term, stable commercial partnerships.
His unique formative environment, diverse educational background, and rich life experiences have shaped a distinctive aesthetic perspective and visual style. He has always believed that artistic creation should carry independent thinking, deep compassion, utmost sincerity, and refined technique—to observe, record, and express the truth, goodness, and beauty of the world.
In the first half of his life, he traveled a winding and circuitous path. Fortunately, through visual creation, he found his way back to his "self"—to that little boy who once drew with quiet earnestness.
